When I was 15 years old I worked in Palisades Amusement Park high atop the the Jersey palisades across from Manhattan. I worked with the Carny guys. They were the men and women who traveled all across the U.S. setting up the State and County fairs. They were extraordinary people.
I photographed a story in 1990 about the last of the train traveling carnival people who set up State fairs all across the America, the “Strates Family.”
